Welcome
Loughborough Marine Interests (LMI. LLC) formed in 2002, started with general yacht projects and slowly morphed into a specialist group in the refit and restoration of classic or vintage wooden yachts. Located in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. We are in the last phase of a major restoration of Kirawan, a Philip Rhodes 53ft LOA, attending to finish carpentry, deck gear and safety items for her entry in the 2020 Bermuda Race – she was the 1936 Bermuda Race winner, competed in 2000, and now going for her third, 84 years after her first.
But Before Kirawan a trio of S&S designs, namely Dorade 52', Skylark 53', and Santana 55' and the Lawley Carina were a succession of refits/restorations with major hull work, significant carpentry above and below deck, spars and finish work with a team of skilled Shipwrights and all trades, managed and implemented here at LMI. A browse through our photo gallery tells the story of each of these and other projects.
For refit, restoration, or maintenance LMI is a flexible facility, with access to an elite group of sub-contracted specialists, where you can get as much or as little that fits your program. Storage our basic, restoration and refit our forté.
